3 videos about next-generation 400G networking you must watch
Over the past few weeks I have spent most of my time in Ottawa meeting with customers during our annual Vectors event. These discussions always excite me because we get to pull back the curtain, show our technology and look to the future of optical networking.
As I am sure you could guess, a hot topic during my discussions was 400G and our WaveLogic Ai solution. Some of the direct customer comments included, “I loved seeing how laser symbols change in real time” and “this session alone was worth the trip”. There was lots of discussion on the link monitoring parameters that WaveLogic Ai is making available to network providers for the first time, with most interest in having access to these parameters coming from content providers, DCI operators and government customers.
This new technology, that is quickly being adopted, is helping network operators address bandwidth demands that only continue to grow. Recently, Mary Meeker’s annual Internet Trends report was released and it showed that people are still increasing the amount of time they spend online, U.S. adults spent 5.9 hours per day on digital media in 2017, up from 5.6 hours the year before.
So, the demand for 400G-capable solutions is clear, but to really understand how this new technology can benefit you and your customers – don’t miss these three videos that help you to learn what the next-generation of optical networking is all about:
- Chalk Talk: Introducing Ciena WaveLogic Ai for 400G Capacity – in this video Joe Shapiro, Senior Director, Product Line Management at Ciena, explains how Ciena’s WaveLogic Ai coherent technology introduces a discontinuity in both capital and operational expenses for networks today while also enabling the foundation for the Adaptive Network of tomorrow.
- In the Lab: Ciena's WaveLogic Ai 400G Tunable Capacity Demo - Step inside Ciena's Ottawa R&D Lab with senior hardware design engineer Will Leckie for a live demo of the WaveLogic Ai coherent chipset and see the various transmission rates and coherent modulation formats that WaveLogic Ai supports.
- The Story and the People Behind Ciena’s WaveLogic Ai – Hear from a few of the people at Ciena who worked together to bring the industry's first single-carrier 400Gb/s solution to market and learn how it was developed.
