This paper is based on a nationwide CDG survey of nearly 100 state and local government IT leaders across government agencies. The survey was conducted in mid-2020 to learn how public sector network issues and priorities changed during the pandemic response. For IT, a critical focus will be on readiness, especially in the WAN. IT teams are already focused on using technology to improve government flexibility and responsiveness. By moving to an architecture rooted in the Adaptive Network, IT can strengthen the WAN to meet operational priorities of today and changing demands in the future.
