The hardened, weatherproof 3931 Platform provides Ethernet demarcation and aggregation for outside plant deployment. It enables delivery of 1/10GbE business services and mobile backhaul with flexible UNI/NNI configurations and support for synchronization and timing, including SyncE and IEEE 1588v2. The platform supports MEF-compliant Carrier Ethernet services and, on the 3931-920, IP/MPLS and segment routing capabilities. Resiliency features such as G.8032 Ethernet ring protection provide sub-50 ms protection switching. Powered by Ciena’s carrier-grade Service-Aware Operating System (SAOS) and integrated with Navigator Network Control Suite™, the 3931 enables automated provisioning and consistent operations across a wide range of deployment scenarios.
