3948

Ciena’s 3948 is a cost-effective router designed to address the requirements for higher capacity and end-to-end disaggregated IP services at the network access, supporting 4G network evolution, 5G deployments, enterprises, and next-generation business services.

The 3948 addresses customers’ key needs, supporting routing, Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), Segment Routing (SR) label and 1/10GbE port density in a compact 1RU form factor. The 3948 features a high-capacity 64 Gb/s switching fabric supporting 4 x 1/10GbE SFP+ ports and 12 x 100MbE/1GbE SFP ports, addressing the continued demand for bandwidth and flexibility in access networks.
