With all the hype around ‘Smart’ Cities today, you would think they are ubiquitous. But even though there are a few high-profile examples, Smart Cities aren’t yet as widespread as one might imagine. Regardless, it’s widely acknowledged that the Smart City concept is well on its way to realization. With Smart Cities—and the many potential threats to the network they bring—utilities need to adopt a holistic security strategy that protects data where it resides and when it moves, and make sure authentication and authorization practices are up to snuff.
