From the so-called Great Resignation to a wave of retirements accelerated by the pandemic, the labor market for state and local governments is becoming even more challenging. Enabling remote and hybrid work gives governments an effective tactic to attract new talent—and retain existing employees. But supporting these new work environments requires a combination of cultural change and infrastructure modernization to securely address the needs of remote workers and enable agencies to continue meeting their mission of serving the public.
