Traditional telecom Service Providers (SPs) continue to face an increasing profitability challenge, as they tackle the deluge of on-demand content consumed by both businesses and consumers alike while trying to maintain a superior customer experience. Coupled with the emergence of IoT and the expected bandwidth-intensive and latency-sensitive applications, such as self-driving vehicles or virtual/augmented reality applications, it’s recognized that SPs need to rethink previously tried-and-true methods to architect their networks. There’s much they can learn from how data centres are built and operated today.
