Ciena® Corporation (NYSE: CIEN), the network specialist, has appointed Henry Kim to the role of President & General Manager, Ciena-Asia Limited, Korea.

An industry veteran with extensive experience in sales management for service provider accounts, cloud computing business development and transformational project management, Mr. Kim will be responsible for Ciena’s overall sales strategy and operations in South Korea.

Newly appointed Korea head Henry Kim will play a pivotal role in reaching out to large service providers, enterprises and education institutions, using Ciena’s leading networking and software technologies in core infrastructure, mobile backhaul and Carrier Ethernet to provide capabilities that enhance the user experience in Korea and to help network providers transform capacity into capability.

Mr. Kim has held several executive positions in sales and business development with leading international IT and networking companies. He worked for Digital Equipment Co. in Massachusetts and NEC Corporation in Silicon Valley, as an engineer in the research and development team for 16 years.
