Ciena role
I’m responsible for developing a Marketing content strategy that addresses the needs of Ciena’s various audiences. I define processes for managing content in its myriad forms—from planning and creation to editing, publishing, storing, refreshing, and archiving. And I couldn’t do any of it without my wonderful team of content experts—including translators, writers, and editors—who are responsible for producing high-quality, compelling content.
Musical Influences
Growing up in a Beatles-obsessed house, Paul McCartney’s amazing bass lines were ever-present, training my ear from early on to hear the bass. Then at 16 I heard Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and begged my dad to buy me a bass. I taught myself by learning Flea’s bass lines until my fingers bled.
My brother always told me the world had too many guitar players, and bass players always have a gig. He was right. 25 years later and I’ve played just about every type of music, and I count Phil Lesh (Grateful Dead), Victor Wooten (Béla Fleck & The Flecktones), Verdine White (Earth, Wind, & Fire), and of course Jaco Pastorius as my all-time bass heroes.
