As the line transmission rates are increased from 10 Gb/s to 40 Gb/s to 100 Gb/s, it becomes increasingly challenging to meet the same system performance parameters that service providers are accustomed to at 10Gbps that have helped dramatically reduce network-level CAPEX and OPEX.
