The CN 2000 Manager, a server-based solution, features a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that enables enterprises and service providers to provision new connections easily and rapidly, modify and review service parameters, view real-time performance and health metrics graphs, track historical usage of MAN/WAN bandwidth, and perform other important operational tasks via a simple point-and-click interface. Multiple, simultaneous client connections allow technical personnel to monitor and manage their CN 2000 network from anywhere in the world.
SIMPLIFIED PROVISIONING
New service connections can be provisioned by simply clicking on a CN 2000 screen icon, selecting the desired protocol (Fibre Channel, FICON®, ESCON®, or Gigabit Ethernet), and selecting the amount of bandwidth required. Changes to existing services are just as simple and can be performed without service interruption, allowing the entire MAN/WAN infrastructure to be tuned and re-tuned whenever required to ensure the optimization of data center and network resources.
SERVICE CONFIDENCE THROUGH END-TO-END MONITORING
The CN 2000 Manager delivers a real-time circuit health monitor, allowing end users to monitor important health and performance metrics, such as end-to-end latency, frame counts, byte counts, Cyclical Redundancy Checks (CRCs) and service occupancy.
CLEAR PROBLEM IMPACT REPORTING
Problems in the MAN/WAN typically cause multiple related alarms to be raised by networking equipment. The CN 2000 Manager correlates these alarms, providing an instant impact analysis of equipment failures for specific users or circuits to assist technical personnel in tracking down and correcting problems as quickly as possible.
RAPID FAULT ISOLATION
The CN 2000 Manager simplifies and accelerates fault isolation by providing a single point of access for the health and status of both data center and MAN/WAN networking equipment, allowing technical personnel to quickly assess and resolve service degradations and faults.
NETWORK OPTIMIZATION
The CN 2000 Manager gathers and stores performance statistics, which allow end-users and service providers to analyze the amount of traffic generated by their key BC/DR, SAN, LAN, and mainframe applications. This ensures maximum bandwidth efficiency and application performance, reducing MAN/WAN bandwidth costs by eliminating waste and enabling intelligent planning to meet future requirements.
SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENT (SLA) VERIFICATION
Service providers often provide an SLA as part of a service offering to an enterprise. The CN 2000 Manager collects key statistics and can generate reports that allow SLAs to be verified by an enterprise, ensuring a high level of confidence in the health and reliability of the service.
