Other EM6 extensions include:

Powered by cutting edge functionality in the EM6, the CN 4200-based video transport solution supports all SD-SDI, HD-SDI and DVB-ASI video formats with automatic video format recognition. In addition, the CN 4200 video Small Formfactor Pluggable (SFP), shown in Figure 2, conforms to Ciena’s flexible product philosophy, using one SFP to support the entire set of video formats—significantly reducing customer inventory costs.

This video SFP provides independent connectivity of transmit and receive video signals, allowing users to maximize port flexibility and capacity with support for up to 12 independent video signals per EM6 module.

Coupled with Ciena’s Enterprise Services Optimization Module (ESOM), the EM6 plays an important role in service aggregation in the managed services and enterprise markets by consolidating as many as 18 ports of Fibre Channel (FC) or GbE into the ESOM for network transport.

This module is designed to be compatible with the CN 4200 and CN 4200 MC, and also may be populated in the CN 4200 RS using an additional power converter module.
