Ciena Appoints Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe

Ciena® Corporation (Nasdaq: CIEN), the network specialist, today announced the appointment of Heide Jeuken-Dahmen to the position of regional managing director for Central and Eastern Europe.

Jeuken-Dahmen is responsible for expanding Ciena’s business throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland and for developing new business in the Netherlands and other emerging markets in Eastern Europe. Specifically in those regions, she oversees Ciena’s direct sales as well as the Company’s channel relationships and resale partnerships targeted at telecommunications operators, alternative service providers, Internet service providers, cable operators and enterprises. Jeuken-Dahmen brings to Ciena more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including leading positions in sales, marketing, business development and management for Siemens, Nixdorf and Lucent.

Francois Locoh-Donou, vice president, International Sales at Ciena, to whom Jeuken-Dahmen reports, describes the appointment as a testament to Ciena’s commitment to further market expansion in Europe.
