Ciena Teams with Presidio to Address Enterprise Needs for Flexible Network Solutions
Channel Strategy Furthered by Partnership Wins for Ciena’s CN 2600 Multiservice Edge Aggregator
Linthicum, MD — Ciena® Corporation (NASDAQ: CIEN), the network specialist, today announced it has established a partnership with The Presidio Corporation, a leading network solutions provider to enterprises, including United States government agencies and large businesses. The partnership adds Ciena’s entire suite of application-driven networking systems to Presidio’s solutions portfolio, and has already yielded new customers for Ciena platforms, including the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority in Orlando, Florida.In addition to expanding the Company’s customer-focused channel strategy, the partnership with Presidio underscores Ciena’s dedication to the government market, building upon the recent announcements of the Ciena Government Solutions, Inc. subsidiary and Ciena’s Government Advisory Board (see related press releases: “Ciena Expands Focus on Government Customers with New Subsidiary” and “Ciena Announces Government Advisory Board”). Both of these organizations serve to strategically align Ciena’s solutions and services, including its FlexSelect™ Architecture and associated Adapative WAN solution set, to serve the unique application requirements of the government marketplace.
Under the terms of the partnership agreement, Presidio will offer Ciena’s entire product suite on its existing contracts and propose Ciena solutions for future government and commercial opportunities. Presidio’s government customers include the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Energy, Justice, Treasury and State. It also has well-established business in several vertical markets including healthcare, education, financial services, media and entertainment.
