Cox Communications, a multiservice broadband company with more than 6.7 million customers, certified Ciena's CN 4200™ FlexSelect™ Advanced Services Platform for deployment in its metro and regional networks to support VoIP, Video on Demand (VOD), high-speed data for residential users, storage area networking, SONET and Gigabit Ethernet for business services.  Additionally, Cox deployed Ciena's CoreDirector® Multiservice Optical Switches in the super headend of its San Diego network to interconnect two metro rings, each transporting multiple 10 Gbps circuits over DWDM.

A number of Cox regions use optical Ethernet platforms from Ciena, and Cox is able to leverage its existing investment and expertise with Ciena’s ON-Center® Management System to deploy new services on the CN 4200.
