Statement of environmental policy

One of Ciena’s goals is to operate in an environmentally-responsible manner, and to further that goal, we have adopted the environmental principles below. In conducting our business we seek to:

• Operate our facilities in a manner that protects the environment, health and safety of our employees, our customers, and the communities within which we operate.
• Ensure that our employees are aware of environmental concerns and, where appropriate, are trained to conduct their activities in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Develop our products with due regard to the environment, including concerns relating to pollution and conservation of energy and other resources.
• Promote the adoption of the same principles by our contractors and suppliers.
• Comply fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to the protection of the environment and the maintenance of a safe and healthy workplace.
