Event Details: IIR Packet Transport Networking

4/14/2008 - 4/17/2008    Berlin, GE    Return to Calendar

Maritim Hotel

IIR's Packet Transport Networks has proved a very popular replacement to IIR's longest running event - Evolving SDH. Over 170 senior professionals attended the inaugural event in the spring of 2007. IIR are expecting a significant growth in visitors to the event in spring 2008, as packet transport becomes more and more important to both fixed and mobile operators.

The conference offers three tightly themed days of plenary discussions, covering: the evolution of the installed base of SDH/Sonet, the development and deployment of Ethernet transport (PBB-TE / T-MPLS / VPLS ...) and the development of a new carrier class of MPLS technology. Carrier MPLS is gradually developing as a new form of the technology, promising carrier class network resiliency alongside efficient packet processing. But will MPLS compete with or complement Ethernet?

Including case studies from both fixed and mobile service providers and specialist training sessions in the key technologies and evolution options, Packet Transport Networks is a valuable opportunity to update your team's knowledge of the technology options, gather competitive information to help you benchmark against your competitors and make important new contacts with experts who can help you to make your migration to packet networks as quick, cost-effective and trouble-free as possible.
